live for today

We wake up every morning
Taking for granted that first breath
The truth is there may not be a warning
When we experience the dance of death

Enjoy your every moment
Treat each as if it were your last
Spend time with God and repent
With His grace he forgets your past

Open your hearts to the poor
Feel their need for love
The pain may be hard to endure
As well as hard to speak of

Are you willing to live for today?
This is a simple question to ask
If need be ask this as you pray
It will guide you in completing this task

Do not let any opportunity go free
Without giving it a chance
Never let something from life flee
Living for today is like a divine romance

True Love

+++++I had the opportunity to spend the day with my nephews who are here from my homeland of Trinidad. They are awesome and so full of love to give. They are very affectionate and they love to laugh. I do not get to see them a lot and man the oldest one Paul is tall. It was great just to see them and how much God has developed them. I remembered them as babies and here they are talking to me about world issues, music and other grown up things. The awesome thing I love about my nephews and me is our relationship. Of course we would want to see more of each other, but it is like seeing that friend you haven’t seen for years and when you meet it’s like you never missed a beat. That is how we are as uncle and nephews and its awesome. The love I have for them runs deep and I know they love me back. They don’t ask for anything and the never expect anything, they just want to hang with Uncle Ant! This reminded so much of Jesus today, because that is all he wants to do. He wants to love us and hang with us. He is always there and always like that old long time friend, when he says hello it seems like we never missed a beat. Thank the Lord for teaching us lessons of love even when we do not realize its a lesson! Amen

God’s grace

+++++It can be so frustrating as a Christian to watch others who claim to know Christ, but yet they still live for themselves. They have great God talk and they are able to give great advice and still they are speaking from an empty cup. Or you have the Christian that just sins and knows that they are forgiven and that’s good enough. Well, What I have learned from Christ is that we are all broken and we are kinda nutty as human beings typically are. This is why we have to pray for the mind of Christ and I don’t think that means we give people a free pass but we must understand they are running from something. I am so thankful that God never gave up on me and I want to give people the same opportunity. God’s grace is amazing because it is never ending and no matter how many times I have fallen God is always there to pick me up. He is even willing to carry me sometimes, if I let him, especially when life throws punches that are typically Knockout blows. Its hard to not get frustrated, however train your mind and heart to understand that people are broken just like me and with that mind set, people’s choices although very loopy will make sense to you. This will give those people a chance to see how Christ can take someone who is broken and make them a Priest of the Most High. Our life is not ours to keep rather it it ours to give. Selah!
