Whom Then Shall I fear?

I was worshipping in church the other day and it was like God just directly spoke to me.  It was an amazing feeling and even more-so because it happened while I was just singing a love song to him.  The words that struck me deeply was when the song says ” for my God is with me and If my God is with Whom then shall I fear?”  The truth is that God tells us in scripture that there is nothing than can nor will separate us from His love.  He allows us to know that Jesus was more than a sacrifice for us but also our Guardian.  He has command of our life and the ability to wage war on anything or anyone who dares to try and shame or humiliate or wound his Beloved.  This truth is something we must walk with daily and in every moment of our life.  Not only in the times of worship or difficulty, but especially in the times of temptation.  We must learn to hold strong to the truth of Christ and his desire to love us and protect during those types of attacks.  As our hearts grow closer to Christ and we desire to become more intimate with him, we realize that there is nothing to truly fear if we allow God to Love us and trust that He is with us daily.  It is incredible to me that Jesus not only wants to protect is and watch over us, but the fact the he chooses to daily bear the burdens we carry, allows me to understand that I will never understand His love for us.  Our sin is not an issue with him, because he is desperate for our love.  He longs to know us personally and to spend time with us.  This is an opportunity that I do not want to miss out on anymore. To draw close and be close to the King of kings and Lord of Lords and He wants to be my friend.  SELAH!!

Redeemer

As I live my life and see the changes God makes daily.  I realize that this battle I wage is one that I wage on myself.  The war has been won and this is without a doubt the truth.  However, we get caught up in this illusion of life and believe we need to pursue things in our way.  God calls himself our REDEEMER.  This simply means that none of our sins nor their consequences will keep us from intimacy with him, because of Christ’s sacrifice.  What a way to live and to love knowing that we have been redeemed and that we are forever redeemed.  It doesn’t mean to go and sin all you want, but it does mean that every time we fall, He catches us before we hit the ground.  Our Jesus is a righteous and powerful warrior and even in that, in the LION which is not safe, is a love that was willing to sacrifice all for you and me.  I am proud to say that I am redeemed today in the blood of Jesus and I know that my call and my life will have to imitate that by how I live and not by just what I say.  I will choose to feed the Lion and starve the Monster(sin/flesh).  The closer we draw to Jesus the less the heaviness can press down on us.  ONE LOVE!!! SELAH!!

Aunt laura

My Aunt Laura passed away just this past week.  She was battling cancer and finally God took her home while she was sleeping.  The battle for her and for her family seeing her in pain was put to rest.  She was an amazing woman and a woman who would tell you exactly what she was thinking.  Her friendship with my mom was amazing and from when they first met back in the 1960’s she help give my mom her voice.  She taught her how to speak what was on her mind.  For those who knew my mom, know that Aunt Laura did a very good job.  I had the opportunity to talk with Aunt Laura a few months back and we had a chance to talk about Jesus a little.  It was nice hearing her voice but even more comforting knowing she believed.  Probably more so than ever since she was in a battle for her life.  She is someone who smoked packs of cigarettes a day and she literally had Pepsi as her blood.  I remember days from when I was as young as 3 sliding down hills of snow in Vermont and I could always see how much her and my mom loved one another.  During my moms last couple years, her and Aunt Laura spoke almost every night, it was awesome to see how she could make my mom laugh and even better to hear how they would share with each other.  Knowing that Heaven is for real, I can see Jesus looking at the 2 of them together and thinking ” This is a beautiful thing, but what was I thinking!”  Though I did not talk with Aunt Laura a lot she was always on my mind and in my prayers.  I thank the Lord that my mom spoke with her about Jesus all the time and I had an opportunity to share with her as well.  She will be missed by her daughter and family very much, but is in an eternally better place and reconciled with all who went before her.  As we grieve our loss we must be joyful for her gain.. Amen!! Love you Aunt Laura..
