There is no dread!

I learned today that dread is a relative of fear.  I learned that the Devil not only tries to instill fear in us but he likes to use dread to keep us down.  Dread is that feeling that comes over you when you feel like you have lost or been overcome.  It is the moments in our life that we would rather stay home sick than face it head on.  Well, as I have been reading the bible and spending time with God, I have come to realize there is no dread, but there is Love.  You see Love is the conqueror of it all.  When we approach pitfalls in our life, we need not be afraid, now the feeling of fear may come upon us, however we do not need to surrender to it.  We can fight through that feeling when we know we have God’s Love.  You see Love carries us through our victories and defeats.  It molds us in our grief and our joy.  No matter how badly something may be, God’s Love can persevere through it.  We need to remember when we ask Why God? that he, Jesus, suffered here on Earth.  There is nothing in the bible that tells us once we are saved life will be easy.  Actually, its the contrary, he says prepare yourself for battle, but know that I am with you always.  He promises us that we can do ALL things through him (Jesus) who gives me strength.  This means All and in that scripture we must have the faith to know that includes the lies of the Devil.  When he comes and tries to scare us or even more so when he comes and tries to lay a heavy burden of dread upon us, is when we must remember through His promise of Love that Every Knee will Bow and Every Tongue will Confess that Jesus is Lord.  His love for us conquers all this World or Satan has to offer.  This is why we must keep our eyes Focused and Fixed on Jesus Christ and continue to allow him to Mold us into warriors of the Most High.

What did that Widow Do?

Let’s chat about the story of the widow’s mite.  Now we will talk about it using present day currency but the story in and of itself is so profound in many ways.  The story goes that Jesus and the disciples are sitting and relaxing on some steps watching people give their offerings.  Imagine a line of people coming one after another just giving and giving.  Well the disciples are noticing all the big money donations and are amazed that these men would give so much.  This guy gives 10,000 and then this one gives a million.  Then Jesus quiets them down and says to them watch this one.  The disciples look to see this lowly, poor looking widow and in her hands are her last and only 2 cents.  This is absolutely all she has in her life.  Jesus says watch as she comes up and without hesitation gives her last 2 cents and walks away. We need to know that her daily bread would have cost her 2 cents, so basically she gave up her families food for the day.  Jesus turns and tells his disciples that what the widow gave was more than any of the rich people.  This is because they gave out of surplus, but she gave out of faith.  What I like is this story gives us an opportunity to believe in God as our provider.  He does not tell us if she was blessed with bread that day, but with our faith in God who is called a redeemer, provider and restorer we must believe.  I love the faith lesson in this story because I want to learn how to give my all and I do not mean monetarily. Tithing is something God calls for us to do, but this story has more to do with Faith.  We have to learn that when God says he will provide, He will.  I want to believe I have the faith to do what that widow did, but I don’t know.  That’s why the title is what it is, because I know my brain would have said ” Well, God you understand I need to feed my family.” or something along those lines.  I want my heart to start to trust my mind and my mind to trust my soul, because it’s their that the Holy Spirit and Jesus reside.  My God is my Provider!!  Thank you, that living by faith takes hope and trust!  I pray that I will give my all to Christ.  My God is my Provider, Jehovah Jireh!

Faith

This is something I could write and write about, but today I want to focus on our faith in prayer.  A young man I know from church went through a third surgery yesterday on his brain.  It took several hours for 2 teams of doctors to perform. Now, of course the family reached out and asked for prayers and they trusted that people were praying, which is usually what happens.  However, this is what I want to talk about, how amazing is our God that in our prayers for this young man, by the way he has an awesome name, which is Anthony ( Anthony Diaz de Arce) so please keep him in your prayers for healing and recovery.  Now, as I was saying the faith we have when we pray for someone is so overwhelming.  As believers we can know that those millions and millions of prayers are going to be answered as Jesus listens and watches his Beloved get on their knees, drive in their cars, spend their quiet time, lifting families and individuals up in prayer.  Our concern for our friends and families carries with it a certain expectation and when we allow our faith to be a part of our relationships it really allows us to connect intimately with God, but also with all those who are praying.  I believe God connects our prayers and it gives us a chance to realize our own Crown of Life, that is all the people we affect in our choices.  My favorite movie line about faith is one that the character says “seeing isn’t believing, believing is seeing!”  Wow, there is no better way to put it when we speak about our faith, I trust in Jesus to know that when I lift up that prayer whatever it is, my belief in him means that I will see the result He sees fit for those we pray for.  I am thankful that this world is not just about how we live here, but that we will live forever with those we love.  So as you pray today my friends, just believe that what you pray for will be given to you.  Thank you Jesus for Anthony Diaz de Arce and the Faith and Enjoyment He shows in life as He trusts in you to carry him through these trials.  Thank you for your ability to embrace his family and comfort them as they stand by his side.  Thank you for allowing us, your Beloved, the freedom to choose Faith as our way of seeing you!
