The Thorn in my Flesh!

I think we have missed the mark in understanding when Paul talks about the thorn in his Flesh.  I know we do not know what his thorn was and there are several opinions out there.  However, I believe Jesus has taught me the understanding of it.  My thorn is there as a reminder of the pain that Christ endured for me.  It is not there to say oh this is my weakness, this is my struggle, it is just who I am.  No!!  this is a lie, it is the reminder that we have suffered and the thorn reminds us that we must endure and persevere.  You see if we didn’t have a thorn in our flesh we would bleed out, there would be nothing to remind us of Jesus’ sacrifice.  We are going to struggle in this world, but we can take responsibility of our choices and commit to living pure.  Living pure means when the whispers come and the temptations seem to much to bare, find the thorn and remember the pain and the emptiness it brings and get your focus back on Christ.  I am thankful for a thorn, and my prayer is that I daily remind myself of the sacrifice Jesus did for us.  Do not accept your thorn as an excuse to stay where you are, rather accept it for the pain and healing Jesus is doing to move you forward.

Run the other way!

The more I draw to Jesus the more he teaches me to run the other way.  Not out of fear, but out of weakness.  He knows when we place ourselves in position to be hurt or to sin.  He wants us to learn that we can turn the other way.  Running the other way doesn’t mean I am running in the wrong direction, it just means Jesus is calling me along a safer path, HIS!  I have heard words like flee, surrender, submit and from our worldly side, it makes us not manly.  However, from the spiritual side it makes us a Warrior.  When we chose to run the other way, it is typically into Jesus’ arms and once he is there he does not let go.  Even when we are choosing to sin, he is waiting for the moment to come in and protect us and heal us.  My prayer for you is when the temptations seems to much to bare and your headed off the cliff, TURN AND RUN THE OTHER WAY!  This knowledge can only become wisdom once you apply it to your everyday life.  Jesus is the lion of Judah and as we turn away from the things that tempt us, we learn to STAND STRONG for the things that build us!  Jesus is our foundation and we must choose to run his race and abandon our own!

Choosing Right!

You come to a time in your life when you look around and see everyone Else’s life moving and it seems like your running in place.  For most, they can move without God and make life happen, however, there are some that God places a heavy hand on and desires for them to do his will heavily.  Now, don’t get me wrong I have made bad choices that have put me in tough situations in my past, but I know there is more to where I am than just those choices.  I realize God has taken each of my choices, good and bad, and has guided me back to his right path.  Essentially, He teaches us how to choose right without having to take some of the bumps and bruises we usually would take.  I know in my life I have to make an honest effort to choose right and not allow my struggles or trials be an excuse for a quick fix.  Honestly, Jesus could have chosen a quick fix and called down legions of Angels to take care of business, however, he chose to endure my cross and yours.  Choosing right is making the choices that count, saying yes when you don’t want to, saying no when you need to and FLEEING when the temptation is too strong to stand your ground.  I know God is molding me moment by moment and I am excited to see my future unfold as these bad habits fall away as I draw nearer to Christ!
