Intimacy is Jesus’ desire

We sat around and spoke about a lot of good things and also things that cause turmoil and argument for argument sake in religion.  We slowly began to come undone and our focus left what we originally were talking about. Welcome to the sin of religion! Yeah you heard me right, its a sin to focus so much on the rules and regulations of the bible, instead of making the main deal the main deal, as my Pastor says it.  You see if we simply remember that we are in a love affair with Jesus, it wouldn’t be so entirely hard for us not to sin.  We have people in our lives that we love dearly and some of us are in love.  Well we do whatever necessary to try and not hurt them because we love them.  We tend to hide the bad things we do because it troubles most of us the disappointment they would feel and the wounds we may cause.  Jesus asks the same of us with him, he desires an intimate relationship, one where we are connected by his love and covered by his grace.  As we grow in Christ we come to realize that Jesus is simply the truth.  We, as believers, focus way to much on the legalism of scripture then on the intimate relationship Christ calls for us to have with him.  You see if we learn to focus on that relationship and let his love mold us or develop us, then He will take us to those next levels. God ultimately wants our cups to runneth over with his love, the only way to do that is by starting at the top.  If we let him pour into us the overflow will then cover those we care about, but more so deepen our intimacy with Christ.  Do not be fooled by the Liar!!! Jesus says he has set you free, so come some time with me!! Jesus wants all of you!!!

Laughter Makes The Soul Smile

I have come to realize that as we grieve and remember the ones we have lost, it is always the happy memories that bring a smile to our face or a laugh to our cheeks.  I have also realized that when we are in our darkest places of our life, it is laughter that allows us to feel, even for a moment, that we are OK.  This is a picture of my mom, exactly how she was.

When I see it I feel exactly what the title of this devotional says.  My sisters mother-in-law was another woman that was amazing and when I think of her strength and her smile, especially her laugh, again I feel exactly what the title says.  These 2 women were incredible on Earth and must be without a doubt Ridiculously AWESOME in Heaven.  They have been joined by a young girl, in our eyes, way before her time.  I did not know her, but just from the words that family and friends said of her, when I saw her smiling picture, again I felt exactly as the title of this devotional says.  To see these ladies and to know how they LIVED life brings power to my choice in life, which is to live life to the full and Remember My Friends, Laughter Makes The Soul Smile!

Precious Moments

As I sat in the celebration of life service, God began to speak to me more and more loudly.  I watched and listened as many people who I have know since I was a little kid profess their faith in Jesus Christ.  It comes at a sad time of loss but within the tragedy, Christ has found good.  I witnessed powerful and unbelievable strength by the family to share the love of the one they lost.  Their passion and strength you know came only from Jesus.  This was confirmed by the many I continually heard saying, I could never do that, how can they be so strong, etc.  I watched the pain and grief on the family, but then when it would be time for them to speak, their strength was divine.  God spoke to all of us, as a reminder, to cherish every moment, do not take for granted the time you have with your loved ones, because it can be taken in an instant.  These precious moments are in front of us daily and we must rely on God to soften our hearts and not let the daily routines take away from our joys in life, which are our families and friends.  I watched a sister sit in front of a crowd of 1000 and sing, magnificently, even though only 4 days ago she lost her baby sister.  That strength does not come from us, the only possible answer is God.  My heart goes out to the family, but what I heard from each and everyone of them tonight, from God I believe, was to Cherish each Precious Moment we have and that is every moment.  We end up in Jesus’ embrace when our eyes close for the final time here on Earth, but as the scripture says ” To live is Christ, to die is Gain!”  Living for Christ is sharing a love and excitement in everything we do and asking God to break our heart for what breaks his.  As we keep our eyes focused on Jesus, he focuses our hearts on those he places in our path.  Thank You, PAPA that Heaven is for REAL!!!  Enjoy every Precious Moment!!
