By Grace Not works

I have come to realize through my studies that if our salvation and lives were based on works we could in a sense have a limit to what God could do in our life.  I mean as long as I followed certain rules and accomplished certain goals I would kind of be able to expect God’s reactions and blessing to me.  Even as much to say what he could ask of me.  Now, however since we are judged and covered by grace and none of what I do really matters as far as his desire to love me and bless me, this means he can pretty much ask anything of me because we are his beloved.  This is a scary truth because since God says I love you regardless of what you do, it means that the call he puts on our life, regardless of how uncomfortable or how no this is not the right time feeling I get, I must take that step of faith.  His sacrifice plays an extremely powerful role in how we choose to live.  We are falling in love with Christ as we learn about following him and within in that Love we will change.  Think of when you met someone who you fell in love with, you did not just say I love you to them, but rather you anticipated things they would want and need to share your love with them.  This is what Christ calls for us to understand, we may be called to missions, or preaching or serving or leading, but regardless of the call it is all done by Grace.  We have to allow our thoughts of people, even the ones who try and hurt us and see them through the eyes of Grace.  It doesn’t mean we have to let them continue to hurt us or wound us, but it just means that as Christ loved his enemies we must learn to love ours.  This is not sugar coated to say that you will forgive them and become the best of friends, but that you will forgive them and leave their fate to Christ so that they may not carry that power over you anymore.  Remember we are children of the one true God and because we are covered by His Grace, he will have people cross our paths that need to see how he Shines through us.  My friends let Christ shine through you and remember what you do doesn’t matter it is who you are in Christ that does.  In case your wondering who you are in Christ… You are His Beloved… His one and only… Amen!

We are to God the Aroma of Christ

I read this today in 2 Corinthians and it captured my heart and thoughts.  To know that we spread the fragrance of Christ through us makes me realize my life means more than I will ever know.  This means to me that Christ knows there are people in our lives now and in the future who will meet us and meet him.  For God knows that we are his children and like a mother who knows the beautiful aroma of her own child, we spread the fragrance of Christ everywhere we go.  We are the victory and in that we must submit to show our lives accordingly.  If we choose to live by Christ we must know our hearts will be molded into his image.  He will have us think about others more than we think about ourselves.  He calls on us to do his will and that is simply to show and shine his love.  Our hearts are designed by him to help others carry burdens they cannot carry themselves.  In this we must know the closer we draw to Christ the less we choose to be distracted by the thorn of our flesh.  I love now knowing that we are a sweet smell to our God and creator, to know that we are to God the Aroma Christ is amazing to my heart.  I want to live my life in a way that glorifies Christ in everything I do.  I want to turn my eyes to Christ when they turn on their own, I want my heart to soften when I feel things that try and harden it.  I want to stay a sweet fresh aroma of Christ to God on this earth until the day he calls me home… AMEN!

Let everything that has breath praise the lord

I wake up every morning at 5:15am knowing that my day is going to be the same as yesterday.  The problem is that living that routine makes everything become a task and that is not how we are supposed to live for the lord.  We need to praise him for everything.  In our victories, defeats, wins, losses in everything we must trust that in his big picture there is a reason.  A Godly reason that we may not understand and maybe we are not supposed to.  As I know life can have its roller coaster effect on us, the one truth that never waivers is God’s loyalty to us.  Through our happiness and our anger, our sadness and depression He is with us and if we allow him will carry us when those times become to much to bare.  My heart has been saddened many times, but also there has been joy and I must take the time to be thankful and praise him for the good and the trials as my faith has grown stronger in him.  The cool thing about your faith growing Stronger in Christ is that everything of him becomes more real.  For instance, my hope is in Heaven, but because of my faith I know that it is real.  Our hearts are designed by God to encourage one another, but to also be there through the times of loss and hurt.  We as Christians need to step up to the plate and stop just asking how are you doing?  We need to be willing to walk along side those that God places in our life, risk being hurt and pour wholeheartedly in them.  For many people, it may be the first time anyone has taken the time to make life about them.  Ultimately, Jesus calls us his Beloved and in that we are His one and only so if we are created in His image we must learn to make others feel like that through Christ’s love in us.  Let Christ Shine through you and turn your cheek and persevere through whatever life or the evil one try and throw into your path.  My eyes are fixed on Jesus and his Truth and no longer on my feelings.  Let God Reign and Let everything that has breath in your life Praise the Lord!  Amen!
