Not of this World

Today we celebrate Easter, WHAT A GRAND AND EXCITING DAY!  This day was the day that Christ walked out of the tomb in human form, not as a ghost or an illusion, but a living breathing Jesus. He defeated death, went down to hell to give the gospel and rose so all could see. He is not of this world, however neither are we.  There is a reason why the things of this world are so appealing to us.  You see deep in our soul, created in the image of God, we long to be with our Father.  Now many of us are numb to that because the world has filled us with it’s venom and our flesh thrives on that.  We are aliens to this place and so when new things come we try them, but God is constantly reminding us, He is FOREVER the  new thing.  It is learning to relax and let God embrace our souls.  We rush because we want to be apart of this world and again we are not.  We come from him and he tells us he has a place waiting for us in Heaven. On this beautiful day that Christ championed death, remember it was not just physical death he overcame, but all types of death and burdens and pain and sins, all the bad was taken into him and destroyed with his last breath on Good Friday.  Like one of my poems, Friday was good for all sin died with Jesus, but what a BETTER Sunday, to see the the completion of His Journey.  Remember my friends, we are not of this world, we are here for a season, Do not let the world and your flesh come between you and your Heavenly Father!

Mold All(Emotions Too!) Of ME, Jesus in your Potter’s Hands

I have been taught for a long time that emotions are dangerous and avoid how you feel.  Well I have done this in my life and missed out on so many opportunities to experience God.  The truth is we are supposed to feel and have emotions, but in relation to Jesus.  Giving him our hearts and burdens is part of it, but giving him the emotions that are attached to those things is most important.  I heard it best this morning, in we truly cannot be Holy unless we approach Jesus Whole.  I have dealt with the symptoms of my brokenness long enough, it is time to let Jesus deal with my brokenness.  Holding onto the lies when Jesus continually says he loves you makes no sense.  Finally I have heard God’s voice saying let go of those lies and since you believe in me, Then, ANTHONY, believe in me.  I sit here thinking I will Follow after Christ, but I will keep my foot in the back door, just in case, you know, I might need to run back to my brokenness.  Jesus’ response is simple, I have allowed you this posture long enough, I will cut off your foot, so that we can move on.  Our feelings have a lot to do with our choices, but we must separate our human discernment of what those feeling are saying and allow the Holy Spirit to give us His discernment.  When we allow God to divinely intervene, Our Actions Shine the Jesus in us.  Feel your emotions, but through the filter of Christ Jesus, Our Papa.

Love Your Neighbor as you Love Yourself!

These are simple yet profound words.  Pretty much what the bible has in store for us.  Simple but profound.  I read this and listen to it only to come and realize I do not live it.  It’s not that I am not a good friend or a caring person, but I have an inner disappointment of myself.  Whatever the reason has been I look at my life and “feel” like I have failed.  Even with the many of friends and others who let me know that I have impacted their lives in a positive way.  So, I read this and realize, not only when I start believing this will I be a better friend, but I will be a better future husband and father.  God loves me so much and that is what this statement is about.  Letting God’s love pour over you so you can share it. Stop dwelling in the past, stop worrying about the future. TRUST!!  Give God and opportunity to show you he is real and he will do it.  Now not in your timing, but in his.  Loving myself means I understand that I am Jesus’ Beloved and that he simply wants to love on me.  If I allow his love to overflow, then others (family, friends, coworkers, etc.) will be changed.  You see following Christ doesn’t allow people to feel a difference, its more than that, when that seed is planted it causes a change in who we are and like I said before, we start to believe in the man or woman God knows we are instead of the man or woman that we think we are.  Loving my neighbor may seem easy, but it’s the second part that will really clear your path.  Are you loving your neighbor’s as you love yourself? Well, I am starting, because I want my life to be different and I want to make a difference everyday and realize I am making it in Jesus name.   My heart has been hardened for many years and my desires have been selfish, but I am ready to sacrifice my old choices and give into God’s desires for me.

One Love, One King, All Christ!
