One Battle, Two Battles, Three Battles More!

This life is a war when it comes to the spiritual realm. I know many of us do not like to dig to deep into this area, but Christ makes significant reference to it.  As we draw nearer to God, the battles increase and the tactics are Oh So cunning.  You see we play a part in our choices and must remind ourselves daily to not feed our flesh and temptations.  What I must learn is to not even dabble in it a bit, because just the tiniest of drop and the bottom could drop out from Underneath me!!  You see we will enjoy this life as Christ followers regardless of victory or suffering because ultimately our treasures are waiting for us in Heaven. So friends, I lift this decree up to you and say I will fight every battle with Jesus in my heart and my fellow Beloved of God at my sides.  Overwhelming shall become more than enough because Simply Jesus says he is!

Lost in Translation (Battling with who I think I am and Who God says I am)

Well I know I have been missing on the writing front for the last few months, but I can tell you that the tragedy with Brett, which is a continued miracle to this day, and other factors, has me well lost in translation.  I expected to hear this God voice that would let me know what the deal was, but as I was waiting for this voice, my dreams and desires were laid before me.  I have run most of my life spiritually from who God has called me to be, for the simple reason that I wanted to sin, not just because it feels good, but it was who I believed I was.  Now, here is where my spiritual maturity has finally kicked in.  I am a Beloved son of the Most High God and that will never changed!  Being lost, even when your found doesn’t make any sense, but it was a choice I made.  I let the many things going on in my life, win.  I let the burdens weigh me down to the point where I just wanted to be numb.  Notice the problem, a whole bunch of “I”.  Thankfully a group of young men and women kept me spiritually charged and joyful.  They are a huge part of me not just turning tail and giving in.  My heart is humbled by Christ, not only for what he has done for me, but what he does through me.  He always amazes me, when I see people from my past who tell me what an impact I had on them through Christ, it doesn’t register until the words come out of their mouths.  I have seen many boys who have become men, who when they have a chance thank me.  I have come to realize I need not pray and look for what God has called me to do, because I am already doing it!!  I am no longer lost in Translation..  That translation is I am a Beloved Son of The Almighty and in the Truth I shall fear no evil and HE will make my paths straight!  forgive me for my absence, I do hope my friends, old and new, jump back into this relationship with Devoetry and we continue this journey together!

Stop chasing the Mirage!

Satan is so very good at what he does.  I have been chasing after the same mirage since I was 10 years old.  It is amazing how real it feels and that we think we can satisfy at some point in our life.  However, just like a real mirage, you never get there.  It just looks like water is there to quench your thirst but the faster you run the farther it gets.  The truth is that it was never there.  That is what the evil one does so well, he gets us focused on an illusion and then we chase because it gave us the falseness of a quick fix.  Now that I am older and allowed God to work in my life for the last 10 years, I am coming to see my mirage for what it is.  A place I can never reach and in the process of attaining that lie, people have and can be hurt.  However, there is truth in our deserts and it can quench our thirst.  An Oasis is a place where fertile ground and water is found.  Even in the lie that Satan has twisted, God says there is a place to quench your thirst a place I can lead you and you can stay there.  There are fruits to be eaten and as much water to drink as you need.  There is only one way to my Oasis, Christ says: Follow me, deny yourself (chasing your mirage), take up your cross daily (to help you in carrying other peoples burdens) and you will see me and be with me in the Oasis in the middle of the desert.  I am so tired of chasing my mirage and coming up empty handed every time.  Lord my prayer is that we can surrender, follow you and realize your path leads to that Oasis, which is your abundant love and your cup that allows us to drink the living water you offered the woman at the well.

One Love, One King, All Christ!
