My Hope is in Heaven

I wrote this about 2 years ago when I lost my mom.  I felt like God wanted me to share this because there was a recent tragedy and a young woman who was only 20 years old passed away in a car accident.  She leaves behind a husband and a 1-year old baby boy, as well as her family and friends.  It is so difficult when we lose someone without warning.  It reminds us to live life to the fullest and always let the people you love know that you love them, SAY IT!

My Hope is in Heaven:

It is a place with streets of gold
Where there is complete bliss
The most wonderful place for a person to behold
My Hope is that Heaven truly exists

A place where the ones we love will be
Sitting, talking and dancing with the Holy One
My faith cries out on bended knee
That this truth will never be undone

No matter how my life will end
It wouldn’t be too soon
To be in Heaven with Family and Friend
And finally see the warring angels by platoon

I have become very homesick
To be with the one that I lost
This heaviness is dreadfully thick
Even knowing that Jesus paid the cost

My hope is in the truth of my Adonai
For He has seen me through my sorrow
He has wiped my tears as I cry
Taking care of me today and tomorrow

He is with me every moment by choice
In Heaven He is with us in person
Oh How I long to hear His voice
As my grief is beginning to worsen

My heart feels like it is being strangled
The days of the week seem longer than seven
My faith and flesh are angrily entangled
However, My Hope is in Heaven!

“Want To” not “Have To”

We desire so many worldly things. We know we want them because there is something in us that longs for it. We go to all measures to fulfill these things pouring time, money, and sometimes our hearts into it. Yet for God, we find it difficult to give Him any kind of time. We find reasons not to read or spend time with Jesus. Following Christ is about “want to” and not “have to”. Jesus “wanted to” die for us, He didn’t have to, so we should “want to” live for Christ!

A Mind-blowing Feeling

It is mind-blowing the feeling you get when you realize your life is not about you.  I attended a retirement party for one of my old coaches.  A man who influenced my life greatly. I knew I wanted to say something about him and his family.  When the floor was open, I did something that I have never done.  I walked up to speak about what God had done in my life through him and the awesomeness I saw God do in their lives.  The special part about tonight is that I know I am ready to live for Christ.  I know that I am no longer a slave to sin, but a disciple of the most high.  As I write, my request to you is allow God to love you and just Let go and Let God!  He knows what’s best for each of us, and he will fulfill his promise to us as long as we let him.  Be at peace and know your past is not who you are, but rather you are molded like clay moment by moment. SELAH!
