Intimacy is Jesus’ desire

We sat around and spoke about a lot of good things and also things that cause turmoil and argument for argument sake in religion.  We slowly began to come undone and our focus left what we originally were talking about. Welcome to the sin of religion! Yeah you heard me right, its a sin to focus so much on the rules and regulations of the bible, instead of making the main deal the main deal, as my Pastor says it.  You see if we simply remember that we are in a love affair with Jesus, it wouldn’t be so entirely hard for us not to sin.  We have people in our lives that we love dearly and some of us are in love.  Well we do whatever necessary to try and not hurt them because we love them.  We tend to hide the bad things we do because it troubles most of us the disappointment they would feel and the wounds we may cause.  Jesus asks the same of us with him, he desires an intimate relationship, one where we are connected by his love and covered by his grace.  As we grow in Christ we come to realize that Jesus is simply the truth.  We, as believers, focus way to much on the legalism of scripture then on the intimate relationship Christ calls for us to have with him.  You see if we learn to focus on that relationship and let his love mold us or develop us, then He will take us to those next levels. God ultimately wants our cups to runneth over with his love, the only way to do that is by starting at the top.  If we let him pour into us the overflow will then cover those we care about, but more so deepen our intimacy with Christ.  Do not be fooled by the Liar!!! Jesus says he has set you free, so come some time with me!! Jesus wants all of you!!!

From Hate to Love

I am humbled by the power of Jesus and I saw it today in the healing he has brought to my relationship with my father.  This was something that was very wounded and painful growing up and even into my late 20’s.  I mean we definitely did better when I was older, but when I was young I was so Afraid of him.  I didn’t like a lot of the things he used to say and do.  This came to a moment in our relationship where we faced off.  I explained to him all the hurt I felt and how that helped in molding my sin life.  Well, it was an amazing day when we had a chance to sit down and chat about his life, at a park on a bench.  When I heard his story I realized the devil had just been passing down these lies in our family from generation to generation.  We reconciled that day, but that was not the only miracle.  It was about a month later I was scheduled to meet with my Pastor friend who was mentoring me and to my surprise my dad was there.  My pastor had called and asked him how important was my relationship to him and he showed up.  He was the first father/parent in over 18 years that ever actually showed up.  We had a chance to talk and work everything out.  It was just me and him, it was an amazing feeling to realize that my dad did love me. From that moment on our relationship has grown in immeasurable ways.  Then with the passing of my mom it almost seemed as God had prepared us to draw closer to each other because of the impact she had on both of our lives.  We now discuss everything and anything for hours upon hours, we go out to eat, go to church and I can honestly say without any hesitation, I LOVE MY DAD!!!  It is amazing to see Jesus mold someone and even more when he does like he says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 ” you are a new creation, in with the new and the Old is GONE!!”  I saw that transformation in my Dad’s life and I am thankful for a God who can take hate, a very strong word, and mold it into LOVE, a more Powerful word.  Now another word I learned a few weeks ago is the foundation of this wisdom in my life and that word is also the most important word in the human language: relationship. Every situation that occurs in our lives relates to some type of relationship, without it Love could not travel on the tracks that relationship creates.  Therefore, if you fix the relationship problem, you can fix Any problem. Thank you God for fixing and blessing my relationship with My Dad! Amen

Better Days to Come

When you sit and listen to how much drama goes on in certain families and also the stuff that can try and enter into your own lives, you realize how good you have it when you learn to live and enjoy life.  Simply because Life has enough drama of its own to take it upon ourselves to create more.  The better days to come are here, because we can choose to live our life with Christ first and by doing it gives us the protection to know that if Our God is for Us, then who could be Against us!  When I look at the drama in my life and I see how God used that to create something awesome, it makes me in more awe of who he is.  He knows exactly what we need, but more so he knows exactly what it will take for us to open our eyes.  My eyes have been opened to the evil trying to infiltrate God’s Beloved, but because Jesus is a Warrior and Awesome protector he lays his hands of peace over me and allows me to share my love and transformation in him with others.  It is one of the best feelings to know that someone is talking trash about you, and they people listening let you know that it is going in one ear and out of the other.  One of the most important of the many lessons I have learned from the Holy Spirit is be yourself, be who you are with your friends, enemies and alone behind closed doors with yourself.  Then there is nothing to hide, because people will know your brokenness but because of that they will be wiling and more likely to share theirs with you.  I hid for so many years and that same coward tries to poke himself out of the darkness sometimes, but then Jesus reminds me of John 10:10, My paraphrase ” Anthony, Satan has come to steal your peace, kill your hopes and destroy your dreams, but I Anthony have come to put all of who Satan is under my feet, because My son, I have come that you may LIVE life to the FULL.”  There is no more hiding or shame when your True, One and Only God says why he has come.  I am excited to keep living my life with God first and with all the trials and tribulations that will help mold me into a better Man, better Future Husband, Better Future Father and Better Disciple of Christ! As God speaks this to my heart and my soul, I can only LOOK FORWARD TO THE BETTER DAYS TO COME!!  This truth is for all of us!! Amen!
