knowing our Calling

Christ’s view of us is we are his Beloved.  We must stay rooted in the word of God so as not to be tricked by false teachings.  More so, to remind our selves that Christ has given us EVERYTHING we need(2 Peter 1:3.)  It is through His promises to us that we can conquer every corruption and evil desire that is in this World.  I have learned that Christ sees me as blameless and pure in His eyes and he tells me in verse 10 of 2 Peter that if I live according to his divine nature and follow him I shall never fall.  I am serious read it your self, the bible says the word never.  God says that if we believe in ourselves the way Christ sees us and loves us, we have the ability through His love to never stumble or fall.  This is very comforting to know that our part is to believe the truth that has already been given to us.  This promise is for us to have set in our hearts, minds and souls that he is there for us and that we are His priests of the Most High.  When we put others before us, for His glory, we do not waste time on the temptations and lies the enemy tries to place before us.  We have to look at the cross and remember that was for us, through that love we need to love others, including those that try and persecute and hurt us. SELAH!

Identity Problem!

The other night I had a chance to sit with a true prayer warrior and daughter of Christ.  The wisdom that I gained in those moments were set by God’s timing for me to hear and receive.  She let me know, through, our conversation that I did not have a sin problem, rather I had an Identity problem.  You see as a believer, we are called to God’s word and in God’s word we are constantly lifted up.  Jesus is continuous in his praise of those who have chosen him and in the ability of his children.  I heard it said best like this, Jesus wants to take our natural and give us his Super natural.  As he watches us and protects us, he sees us as blameless because the truth is the cross washed us clean.  We are the ones who stay in these fights with ourselves and the problem when your battling sin is your focus stays on you.  You are not able to truly accept the man or woman of God you already are.  We do not become Saints, we already are.  You see when Christ paid the price for us that was for our eternal life that he paid that price, so when we have these parts of our life that continue to pull at us and trick us, its because we are not standing firm in the place that Christ has put us.  We are at his right hand and even scriptures says we will do greater things than him.  He created us and molded us to be the light of the World.  Now, obviously we have the Holy Spirit to guide us, but our Identity is not the broken man or woman we see in the mirror and we must stop looking at that brokenness.  God knows we were broken but he says very clearly in Ephesians 2: ” As for you, you WERE dead in your transgressions and sins.” He let’s us know right there using the word “were” that we are no longer there no he continues in verse 4 and says: “But because of His great Love, God, who is rich in mercy, made us ALIVE with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by Grace you have been saved.”  My friends how amazing is that for us.  God’s truth is in the bible and the bible says we have been made ALIVE in Christ, so do not waste anymore time looking at the person you think you are, rather believe that you are the blameless, adored, pure, new creation son or daughter of the One true God.  Please know that this truth is something that is new for me, because though I have known this about God, I did not believe it fully for myself, until now.  I will no longer allow my time to be snatched away by lies.  I am going to let God’s embrace on my life be what guides me through this journey.  It is a new feeling and very hard to do at first, but the more I read scripture, the more I realize, that he wants us to live our lives to the full.  When we have him first, living that full life is a full time desire for the lost and the broken to see their true identity in Christ.

Numbness before Grief!

I just received news that my good friend’s mother passed away.  God’s answer to our prayers for healing were to take her home.  I remember this from when my mom passed and the anger I felt when God didn’t heal her the way I expected.  It is amazing even in our sorrow how selfish we can be and forget that Christ knows best.  I am in prayer for my friend as he is traveling back to the United States from overseas, and I am praying that Jesus is meeting him at his pain right now.  I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to be so far away and know that your mom is no longer with you.  It was unbearable for me with my mom and I was there to see her shortly after she had passed away.  His mom was someone I knew very well and she was an awesome woman and the shock that I am still feeling is making this seem surreal.   My feelings are locked up. I know so many people have been praying for her, but ultimately God made the final decision of what was best.  I cannot release this numbness as it is sitting on my chest.  My heart goes out to my friend and his brother and my prayer is that Christ will break down and through their doors of numbness and meet them with his peace.  I pray that they will come to Christ for his hand of comfort and healing and they will draw closer to each other and know that Jesus is Lord.  The numbness we feel usually leads us to sin, but this is just another lie, Our God is the one and only true God, he is a God of Grace and Healing.  This means we must fight through the feeling of numbness and prepare ourselves to accept the feelings of grief that are to come.  We are supposed to grieve those that we lose, but we must grieve differently, for when we lose one of God’s Beloved here on Earth, our faith lets us know that they are rejoicing and loving on Jesus in Heaven.  As for me, I went from believing Heaven was real to Hoping Heaven was for real.  The loss challenged my faith and put it truly to the test.  My faith, 3 years and some months later, is stronger that it has ever been and my hope in Heaven is anchored by the reality of my Savior, Jesus Christ.  Our focus, my friends, should not be to live life to fulfill our needs, rather we should extend our Crown of Life and see How far we can shine the Light that Jesus gives each of us to share!!  One Love-One King-One Christ!!
