Those moments
I was driving to work this morning and it was cool and quiet on the drive there. In the silence of that drive I remember one of the most beautiful and heart felt moments I had with my mom. I was coming home from work and it had to be around 6pm and as I was pulling in I saw her leaving my apartment. Now my mom was Awesome, and still is in Heaven, but she used to sneak to my house during the day and put paper towels and toilet paper for me. She was hilarious, her excuse was that she gets them on sale better than I can get them on sale so just deal with it. I can remember for a long time when I was younger, I would get embarrassed by my mom just because of how bold she was, but man I have become more and more like her and loved how straight forward she was. Anyways, back to this moment, I walked up to the car and she put it in park and I just let her know, Mom thank you for everything you have ever done for me and I love you. It was really the first time I just let her know of all the sacrifices she made for me and I was very appreciative of everything she did. She let me talk for about an hour to her, just sharing that moment with her, an intimate and important moment in both of our lives. God counseled that moment because it was something she needed and I needed. She simply looked at me said thank you and I love you, put the car in drive and drove off. She made sure to remind me to pass by for dinner the next night. We cannot pass on those moments in our life, we have to learn to live without regret and there are times when I feel I have disappointed my mom and times when I wish I would not have stayed away so much in those last few months. Then God reminds me of these moments and through people who still call me to this day almost 4 years after her passing and let me know, how highly she spoke of me every time they talked to her. That she was indeed very proud of me and was not nor never felt disappointed in me. Those moments now help remind me of that moment with my mom. I miss her more and more everyday, but it also helps me to be the strong man I am today. My goal is for my Crown of Life to reach as many people as my Mom. There is no doubt she is loving on Jesus and telling him some stuff he should be doing… and I am sure he looks at her with a smirk and a wink and loving that he created her just the way she is. Do not miss out on those moments in your life, share with someone close to you of how they truly have influenced your life. SELAH, My Friends!
