Freedom, Not Parole
He gives us freedom;
He has broken every chain,
When we allow His will to be done.
We are protected under His Kingdom’s reign
We inherit many of our sins,
However, our prisons are of our own design.
Shame, pain, and fear is what this brings,
The darkness suffocated the light not to shine.
Our bondage of self keeps us tightly bound,
The daily grind keeps us not at ease.
But the pursuit of us by Heaven’s Hound
Allows us to fall brokenly to our knees.
With Jesus there is no parole,
It is true freedom we receive.
Our dungeon door opens for our soul;
No longer shall our soul grieve.
The Book of John says it clear:
“So if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.”
It is at the open dungeon He will appear;
No longer will our old self succeed.
He gives us freedom, not parole.
It is not a good-behavior release.
We have freedom; we pay no toll.
Shame, pain, and fear shall cease.
Now we begin to daily take up His cross,
Falling in love with our first true love.
Our old self immediately feels the loss
As the Holy Spirit descends upon us as a dove.
He gives us freedom, not parole.
Freedom still stays a choice.
Walking out of the dungeon door whole
Is a feeling of pure rejoice.
As we hold our Papa’s hand to walk out,
Many familiars will reach out to grab you in desperation.
Remember, my beloved, He chose you—there is no doubt.
He gives us freedom, not parole; He gives us salvation.
