Oh mommy what I would give for one more time
One more time to hold your hand and see your smile
One more time for you to curse at me and hear your laugh
I miss just having to pick up the phone and dial

I’d love to hear you say my name like you only could
I miss your hugs and always asking what I want to eat
Just one more time take me back to my childhood
Where I could lay next to you and hear your heartbeat

Sitting and watching you play solitaire
Until you noticed I was watching you
In that moment, you cleared the cards to prepare
For me to come for a cuddle or two

My love for Jesus and to put that love first
Comes from you and your love for Him
You always showed me my true worth
Oh how I would love to walk in and see you praying again

For all your faults and for all your pain
You never let me see it, not till almost the end
That night of you walking to the back room remains
But you got to see my father and my heart mend

I believe that night gave you peace
As your soul and Jesus were getting ready
That night you went home broke me to my knees

Your face looked touched by an Angel
As if Jesus reminded me, only from this earth are you gone
“She is safe and with Me,” a soft whisper said so gentle
