When we are younger we really do take for granted the blessing of another year. Most of the time we are focused on the things in life that bring anxiety, worry and fear. The other times we are focused on ourselves and what we think we need to do. We work so hard to make money and have success and if we struggle with our self-worth it is just another battle to add to the way of life. However, I have learned that our most important commodity is TIME! We can lose and gain money, success, fame and more. The one thing we do not gain more of is time.

When I was younger I did not like celebrating my birthday, I would find ways to avoid people knowing and if someone tried to set up a party or get together for me I would feel not worthy of it. I lived like that for a long time, but now I realize, because of the loss of several loved ones, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE and should be treated more valuable than Earth’s most precious stones. As a christian, we know that we have eternal life and live in Heaven, but God wants us to believe more than that. Jesus says in the bible that He wants us to Live life and have it to the full. He wants to give us our desires and our wants, but in that our faith must be solid. When we have faith and we claim the blessings that He promises, they will come true.

I turned 47 today and most of my birthdays I just treated as another day. What I realized is your birthday gives people a chance to celebrate you. You get a chance for people to show the love and respect they have for you. You can see people go out of their way to make you feel special. The world stops for a moment and you get to be loved on. There are so many people in this world who do not get to celebrate their birthdays because of the circumstances of life they are in. For those of us who have a community, let them love on you and allow Jesus to shine brightly as your soul is being blessed by those close to you.

I know that today is a blessing as I start my 47th year and I want to take this blessing and live the best life I can for Jesus. There is an amazing connection with the Holy Spirit that happens when you choose Him. A lot of time we feel it during worship, but if you take your time and let God work you can feel, see and hear the love and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Enjoy your birthdays and know that God wants you to feel like you deserve it because He took all the bad for you, so that you can live life to the full.
