The Magic of the Horizon

The horizon is set as far as the eye can see
It’s simple design is a straight line
You imagine all the places beyond it there may be
Asking God “Is this a sign?”

The ocean horizon is indeed so glorious
So clean cut it seems like the Earth is flat
The twinkling end of the sun light a sign of being victorious
So mesmerizing we sometimes forget where we are at

There is peace in the in the horizon
It settles the chaos of your soul
The heaviness of your burdens begin to lighten
Giving truth that God is in control

The rays of the sun lay on the water
As if guiding your path to peace
Realizing who is our story’s true author
The magic of the horizon give us a release

This freedom feeling comes from Christ
A moment again to feel his love
Allowing the gift of his sacrifice
To rest peacefully on us from above

The glistening water moving to its own tune
Demands you to focus on the light
To all the things in my world I am immune
The magic of the horizon has captured my Heartsight

Humble Yourself before the Lord!

I have often wondered why certain things happen for people and do not happen for me. Have any of you ever had that thought? It may be in passing for some and an obsession for others. It wasn’t until the other day that God revealed to me my selfishness. Now, it is masked because it happens behind closed doors when I have my “Oh Woes Me!” moments. The moments that thoughts of envy or lack of success in an area of your life pop up. I will share with you where most of my struggles are anchored. It is not being ok that I am single and then trying to fix that on my own. I am not good at that at all. However, I would never stop to think about that and I would just feel sorry for myself and that would bring me down. I would respond with finding more things to do to distract me from the one thing God was trying to tell me!

HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE ME, Anthony!! You see He revealed to me that I have been looking so hard for what I want in a wife that I forgotten that I should be living like a man that a woman would desire to be her husband. We have these list when it comes to relationships and it is funny how these list are not as detailed as they once were when we were young. I didn’t think about my list until I was watching a cheesy Christian movie the other night. I am sitting on my couch and just enjoying the night and watching this movie and thinking that the main character is an idiot. I was like what is he thinking and why can’t he see what God is doing in his life. Well, with about 15 minutes left in the movie, the scene is the main character with his dad and he is so sure he did nothing wrong in hurting the woman that he really liked. The dad looks at him and says to him ” son you made a list of everything you needed your perfect woman to be, did you ever stop to think about what she needed, You are Selfish!!” and Boom God hit me!! Right there on my couch and all the years of failed relationships I never once thought of that, fitting right!!

Then not to many moments after that, in a prayer time of repentance, God shares with me James 4:10 ” Humble yourself before God.” I realized that it is not about our sin and missing the mark, but it is the struggle we have and the choice to repent that makes us different as Christians. My weakness is strength in the eyes of the Lord. So if I follow through as He says and submit to him and give him all of me and turn away from my selfish ways, not only do I get to share in the comfort of Christ but I also will receive his blessings. I do know I am not supposed to be alone and I have searched wrongly to fill that void, but now I will humble myself and act like the man a woman would want to make her husband!! Amen that we can return 70 times 7 and Our Father and our Savior are always receiving of us. My friends, humble yourself before your God in all you do and allow him to bless you in amazing aways!!

A Clean Slate

No matter how many times we mess up in life. No matter how many times we run off and live how we want to over what God provides us, Jesus is always willing to receive us. I know in life we get busy and we get selfish and most of those times we think we have control and forget that it is truly an illusion. You see every move that is made in sin that does not result in death just means you were protected by the Holy Spirit to not get the full wrath of that sin. The consequences may still happen to some degree but overall Mercy and Grace are granted to His Beloved. That is me and you.

When I start to get numb in life is usually when I realize I am missing Jesus. It does not mean I haven’t been in contact with him but it has had no depth. I let life get a hold of me or feelings and I run with those. They are so easy to blame for sin and in the end Jesus is always there and is always the answer. He has so much for us to gain and just asks us to show this through our faith. He asks for faith the size of a mustard seed and we could move mountains. My prayer is that I would start to have the same faith I have in the bus drivers that get us to our games and tournaments that I would start to have in Jesus!! COULD YOU IMAGINE?

I literally never asks the bus driver if they know where they are going or how they are going to get there. I get my team, get on the bus and say we are ready. I do not know their driver record, driving credentials or even how long they have been driving a bus. Yet I take my team and my safety in their hands and have faith they will get us to the right destination. Then we have Jesus who simply asks us to have a little bit of faith in him and we could move mountains. I have trouble with that faith because I get greedy in life and I want things to happen on my time.

Well no matter who we are or what we do,when we choose to repent and turn to Jesus, He is there with open arms ready to embrace us. I am there now, but I think I want to stay here for a while. A clean slate feels weird and almost like you shouldn’t get one but that is why Jesus did what he did for us. I know its been a while since I have written but you can get ready to hear more from me as Jesus does his work within. AMEN
