A King of a Man!
I was able to spend some time with a man who has impacted my life tremendously since I met him almost 20 years ago. He is the most humble caring and amazing man I have met. No matter the struggles or burdens his family had or any pain he carried, he was always smiling. He has such a tender soul. Since I have met him and since I have come to Christ, I have always prayed that I could have such humility towards God. This time I spent with him were in his last hours as Jesus seems to be calling him home. I know the glory that waits before him, it is the same glory my mom experienced when she passed, but for us we grieve because the beauty of their soul is not longer with us. He opened his eyes when I walked in and reached for my hand, we were able to look at each other and I could see the peace in his eyes. What I have come to realize is that good men, King men, men who choose to live with Christ first are always remembered for that. I will always remember this man, until the moment I get to see him in Heaven, as a King, who chose to follow after Christ in his life. I lost my first grandfather when I was about 6 years old, and I never met my grandfather on my mom’s side because he passed when she was only 10 years old. This man I called G-dad because that was what his grand kids called him, but for me it was much more than a name, he was my G-Dad a man I had a chance to sit next to in church and walk to his car. We spoke about everything from how he was feeling, the University of Miami football, and what was going on in my life. I am so thankful God gave me an opportunity to spend time with him last night and I am so glad I got to hold his hand and we saw each other. His crown of life reaches to many lives because he has allowed Christ to shine through him all his days. Papa, whatever your will, thank you for creating and placing into my life G-Dad!
