End of My Road, Beginning of His!

I know as a non believer when we accept Christ we reach the end of our road.  This, however is for believers who continue to try and do it on their own.  This has been me for so many years, just resisting to surrender completely to God, even though I know He only desires the best for me.  I have come to realize in my walk with Christ, that the damage is done once I choose to sin.  When I was younger and would be in sin for several weeks, I would never sense the impact it was having on my life.  Now, I can feel the damage almost immediately.  That conviction brings me back to Jesus quickly, but I have come to the end of that road.  I must take responsibility for my actions and decisions.  God is choosing to use me in people’s lives and if I continue to place me first, I will surely end up last. When I draw near to Jesus I feel all those whispers and temptations lose their power, they seem almost silent.  Then for some reason, when one slips in, it is as if I have missed it and grab a hold of it and do not want to let go.  What I know now is that I am still on my road and my choices, but God let me know His road is smooth and waiting for me as I stand at the fork in the road.  I look down one way, which is my way and it seems so easy, without risk, then I look down the other way and it is unknown.  God tells me take the one that is unknown and trust me, that way nothing will be familiar, especially your sin. When your on God’s road you have to focus on him and each step you take, you do not have time to look around at the distractions/ temptations.  They will be there, knocking at the door, but ultimately our faith will guide us.  Today is a day I choose to take the road that is unknown, the one where I have to submit totally to Christ, and hope each step is the one He is whispering in my ear to take.

Walking Freely In The Essence Of Christ!

Our Freedom is anchored in our belief that Christ will do as he says throughout scripture.  We must Respect His power and His Truth in that He is the Truth.  This is my desire as it should be yours, to be anchored in my belief that Christ has set me free and is carrying all the burdens that once weighed me down.  There is no more cell door, nor are there any chains, we can walk freely in the essence of Christ!  Though this life is like a vapor, our soul will rejoice for eternity in the name of Our Lord, Savior and Friend, Jesus Christ.

The Shield of Faith

I am learning so much about God these days.  These are lessons he has been teaching over and over again, but I guess I am finally starting to listen, a little.  It seems like I know whats best for me or better yet what makes me “feel” best.  Then I realize it is my flesh and worldly desires that take over and cause me more harm than anything else.  Then comes in the Shield of Faith, it is a great piece of spiritual armor to talk about, however I am not using it on a regular basis.  My shield is always ready to be used but for some reason I allow my self to believe I can do this on my own.  You see the Shield of Faith can move in any direction and can absorb any flaming spear or arrow Satan throws at us.  We wonder why we fall so many times and when we look around we realize that Satan is throwing temptation, pain and fear at us pretty much every moment.  The Shield is for our use, it is trusting that God will do what he says he will, but we just have to be facing the right direction.  That’s it, facing the right direction, it doesn’t mean spears and arrows won’t be flying but the Shield of Faith will extinguish them all.  I also learned that the type of Shield Paul talks about in Ephesians is one that required the Roman Soldiers to connect arm and arm.  This was a great bit of wisdom for me to learn, because he wants us to know we cannot do this alone and we shouldn’t.  Yeah it makes us think we are fighting off battles when we use our Shield and then we realize our Shield is sitting on the table.  It’s not until we connect with one another, disciple each other and fight the good fight together that we can truly begin to experience the peace of Jesus Christ.  Our relationship with him requires that we have our tools and armor ready at all times.  In our life we plot our course, but more importantly we should remember that the Lord determines our steps. ( Proverbs 16:9) Once we know that our life is no longer ours and we are here to Love, Fight and carry each others burdens together, the quicker we will always remember to pick up our Shield of Faith.  We are never deserving of any of the arrows or spears thrown at us. Christ paid for and endured them all.  We are ALL His Beloved! Amen.
